On July 13, these former teammates will once again take the All-Star stage, but this time as managers in the 2024 MLB All-Star Futures Game at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Beltré will manage the AL Futures team while Young will lead the NL squad in the 25th edition of the Futures Game. The seven-inning contest, featuring top Minor League prospects competing as part of All-Star Saturday, is scheduled to begin at 4:10 p.m. ET

Beltré spent eight of his illustrious 21 big league seasons with Texas, slashing .305/.357/.509 during that period. One of 33 players who recorded 3,000 hits, Beltré compiled 1,277 hits with the Rangers, 199 of which were homers. He had his No. 29 jersey retired by the Rangers in 2019 and will be inducted into Cooperstown on July 21.

Futures Game coverage | History

Young spent 13 seasons with the Rangers and racked up 2,230 hits, a .301 average and one batting title (.331 in 2005) along the way. Young had his No. 10 jersey retired by the Rangers in 2019 and is the team’s all-time leader in a number of categories, including games (1,823), hits (2,230), runs (1,085), total bases (3,286) and multi-hit games (651).

Young also had a couple of clutch moments as a Rangers All-Star. In 2006, his two-out, two-run triple in the ninth inning off of future Hall of Famer Trevor Hoffman lifted the American League to victory. Two years later, he walked it off for the AL with a game-winning sacrifice fly in the 15th inning. The 2024 MLB All-Star Futures Game on July 13 will be followed by the brand-new MLB Futures Skills Showcase.
