Drew Bryan looked for a solid start following the outing from Trenton Shaw on Saturday, and the right hander from Chicago didn’t disappoint. He worked three innings, allowing just one run, unearned, on two hits. He walked three and struck out four in the no decision.

The Scrappers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st inning, but Williamsport got the run back and more in the bottom of the 1st as Colson Lawrence sent an offering over the wall and into the visiting bullpen. Edwin Toribio and Gage Gundy each scored on Lawrence’s first home run of the season as the Cutters took a 3-1 lead.

Jatnk Diaz made his Cutters debut, and gave Williamsport two perfect frames of relief, striking out one along the way.

The Crosscutters added a run in the bottom of the 4th inning as Tyler Herron singled to center, scoring Reed Chumley to make it 4-1. It was Herron’s first RBI of the season.

Colson Lawrence added another run for the Cutters in the bottom of the 5th inning, launching his second home run of the night - and the season - well over the bullpen in left field. It made it 5-1 Cutters.

Jacob Hasty had a bounce back outing, working a scoreless inning, allowing one walk and striking out two.

The Cutters bullpen started to faulter when Ethan O’Neal allowed a run in the 7th and Jacob Crowder allowed a run in the the 8th, dropping the Cutters lead to two.

Jacob Peaden allowed two walks and a single to the first three batters of the 9th to load the bases. A wild pitch allowed a run to score and the trail runners to advance into scoring position.

Peaden struck out the next two batters, setting up a dramatic at-bat with Cole Conn. Conn sent a 1-1 pitch into center, scoring the tying and go-ahead runs, making it 6-5 Scrappers.

Peaden struck out the next batter to end the top of the 9th. Williamsport would go down in order in the bottom of the 9th, taking the loss.

The Crosscutters open a brand new series with West Virginia tomorrow night, first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
