Williamsport, PA - A six-run fourth inning and a dominant start from Trenton Shaw propelled the Cutters to a 8-6 win over the Scrappers.

Trenton Shaw looked to bounce back from his previous start and he did so in strong fashion. The lefty worked five scoreless frames, striking out a season-high seven batters in the win.

Shaw limited the Scrappers to just two hits and three walks as he provided the longest outing of any Crosscutters pitcher this season.

The Cutters were able to get an early run for Shaw, as Nate LaRue was struck by a pitch to lead of the 2nd inning. LaRue swiped 2nd base and took 3rd on an errant throw.

Daunte Stuart grounded out to short, scoring LaRue, giving Williamsport a 1-0 advantage.

The Cutters blew things open in the bottom of the 4th inning, taking advantage of another hit batter - this time it was Gage Gundy getting drilled.

Nate LaRue followed with a single to get two on for the Cutters. Adam Parzych ripped a two-run single to right field scoring Gundy and LaRue to make it 3-0.

Colson Lawrence added on with a two-run double to deep right, chasing home Stanley Tucker and Parzych, extending the lead to 5-0.

Jack Oberdorf chipped in a RBI single to score Lawrence, then Ryan Ignaffo hit a wall ball double to left, scoring Oberdorf to cap the six-run frame and hand the Cutters a 7-0 lead through four.

Manager Jesse Litsch went to the bullpen and got Tyler Herron, who catches most of the time, to make his 2nd appearance of the season. Herron allowed four runs, all earned, on one hit and four walks over an inning plus of work.

Litsch then went to the bullpen and pulled out his Designated Hitter, Ryan Ignaffo to pitch, entering with the bases loaded and no outs in the 7th. Ignaffo would strike out three batters and get out of the inning, but not before the Scrappers pulled within one at 7-6.

Ignaffo allowed two runs, both earned, on two hits, two walks and struck out four in his first appearance on the mound in Williamsport.

Jacob Harper picked up another 8th inning RBI for the Cutters, drawing a bases loaded walk to score Colson Lawrence, adding a little insurance for Williamsport.

Manny Dooley entered from the Cutters pen in the top of the 9th and was able to work around a two out triple, striking out a pair of Scrappers batters, to close out the win and earn his first save of the season.

The Crosscutters look to take the series tomorrow afternoon, first pitch is scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
